Dr. Emilia Bouriti is a researcher, visual artist, and performance artist, as well as the director of the non-profit organization Syn+Ergasia, which functions as an artistic platform. She studied Performance and Visual Art at the University of Brighton and is a PhD candidate at the Athens School of Fine Arts.
Since 2003, she has been actively engaged in the field of art and public action. Her work is characterized by a strong interest in the relationship between the body, space, place, and local communities.
She has created site-specific performances, visual installations, and experiential participatory works.
Her artistic journey moves between art, community, and the environment, aiming to activate viewers-participants and to create dialogues with social and cultural spaces.

Her work focuses on the following areas: participatory art, cultural heritage, sustainability, and the resilience of local communities.
She was selected by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture to contribute to the National Report on the implementation of the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Greece.
