Initiated by the Syn+Ergasia Art Platform, under the direction of Emilia Bouriti, and supported by the Laboratory of Mild Energy Forms and Environmental Protection of the University of West Attica, an informative event titled “The Intangible Cultural Heritage of Aspropyrgos: Development Opportunities” is being organized.
The keynote speaker of the event is Mr. Ioannis Drinis, Head of the Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage and Intercultural Affairs at the Ministry of Culture, who will present, among other topics, the institutional framework for:
- The promotion of elements of the intangible cultural heritage of Aspropyrgos
- Funding tools
- Network development
- Registration of elements in the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage based on the corresponding UNESCO Convention (2003)
This will be followed by a discussion on cultural heritage issues relevant to the communities and associations of the city.
The event aims to highlight the multifaceted dimensions of the Aspropyrgos area, where cultural heritage, diversity, and common goals for sustainability and community resilience shape the future in a post-industrial era. Considering that resilience is understood not only as the ability of a community to withstand and recover from challenges but also its capacity to adapt, transform, and thrive anew in the face of change, this initiative is considered particularly important.
The event is complemented by a multicultural artistic panorama representing the local communities.

Because cultural heritage, memory, and community form the essence of our identity!
This event is part of the collaboration between the Syn+Ergasia NGO and the Laboratory of Mild Energy Forms and Environmental Protection of the University of West Attica.
The goal of this collaboration is to strengthen the dialogue between culture and mild energy forms, which are not treated as an end in themselves but as tools for social benefit.
Within this framework, pilot programs for energy transition are being developed on the farms of Aspropyrgos, aiming at sustainability and the sustainable development of the local community.
Believing that this informative event will help communities find the right tools to continue their upward trajectory, we invite you to attend this celebration of the culture of Aspropyrgos.
Your presence and active participation will bring us great joy!
