CleanBioAthens & Youth Climate Action Fund | Program – Information on Combating Air Pollution and Adapting to Climate Change

The artistic platform Syn+Ergasia participates in the three-day activities of the CleanBioAthens program.

The CleanBioAthens project is supported by the Municipality of Athens within the framework of the Youth Climate Action Fund. This project brings young people to the forefront, giving them the opportunity to actively contribute to combating air pollution and adapting to climate change.

Young people, in collaboration with the research team from the University of West Attica and the services of the Municipality of Athens, collected and processed data related to air pollution.

Through this process, the youth gain a deeper understanding of the factors affecting air quality and learn the importance of participatory processes for mitigating and adapting to climate change.

The action at the 4th General Lyceum of Athens included a discussion with the principal Maria Steiakaki, educators, researchers, and lecturers: Mr. Panagiotis Ktenidis, Ms. Christiana Papapostolou, and Mr. Georgios Spyropoulos from the University of West Attica, the Laboratory of Mild Forms of Energy and Environmental Protection, and Ms. Emilia Bouriti from the artistic platform Syn+Ergasia, as well as representatives from the Municipality of Athens.

At this meeting, students were informed about air pollution in Athens and the importance of their participation in such activities, which, as emphasized by the Deputy Mayor of Climate Governance and Social Economy, Mr. Nikos Chrysogelos, are vital for our health and quality of life.
