Amoli – Watery Encounters of Cultivators in Trees that Persist | 2nd Ecoculture Festival 2024

Meeting of pistachio producers of Western Attica in Aspropyrgos

This is an initiative focused on the cultivation of pistachio trees in Western Attica and the challenges posed by climate change and the region’s multiple identities. It is implemented by Emilia Bouriti and the Syn+Ergasia Art Platform, in collaboration with the Laboratory of Mild Forms of Energy and Environmental Protection at the University of West Attica.

The event consists of a walking route, participatory actions, visual installations, Arvanitic and traditional songs from the communities, a lecture on proper water management and energy communities, and a talk about peri-urban agriculture and European agricultural programs.

The initiative is marked by the gathering of producers from Aspropyrgos, Elefsina, Megara, and Western Attica more broadly, aiming to exchange knowledge and experiences as well as to create a network.

This initiative takes place within the framework of the Ecoculture Festival.
