INVITATION TO CULTURAL AND CREATIVE INITIATIVES FOR A MEETING IN PLOVDIV
We are pleased to announce the upcoming Transnational Event — a hybrid meeting focused on the Balkan region — which will take place in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, on September 1st, 2023. This event presents an excellent opportunity for participants to gain practical insights and valuable knowledge about the well-being of the Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI) ecosystem in Southeastern Europe. It will also explore ways to build sustainable audience relationships through hybrid means.
The Transnational Kick-off Event is organized by Intercultura Consult, as host, in collaboration with Plovdiv – European Capital of Culture 2019 – as an Associated Partner, with the aim of identifying the specific needs of CCI organizations in the Balkan region and increasing their visibility. By drawing on Plovdiv’s rich legacy as a European Capital of Culture, the event will provide an ideal setting for fostering collaboration.
The in-person component of the event will bring together representatives from 20 organizations across the Balkan region who are actively engaged in fostering innovation and creativity. Additionally, the online component is expected to attract between 30 and 50 participants from around the world.
One of the event’s highlights is a knowledge exchange session featuring partners from Materahub (Italy), Syn+Ergasia (Greece), and DFT (Denmark). These partners will share their valuable experiences in promoting creative practices that address critical issues such as audience development and organizational sustainability. This knowledge exchange aims to inspire participants and spark innovative ideas for driving positive change in the CCI sector.
To ensure broad participation and outreach, the event’s partners have established close collaborations with prominent creative hubs and CCI networks in Southeastern Europe. Moreover, the event has gained the support of key institutions, including the Association Independent Culture Scene Of Serbia, Toplocentrala Arts Center in Sofia, the University of West Attica, and “2023 ELEVSIS European Capital of Culture” in Greece, along with the municipalities of Plovdiv (Bulgaria), Billund (Denmark), Matera (Italy), and Aspropyrgos (Greece). The involvement of these esteemed organizations reinforces the event’s significance and highlights its potential to foster cross-border collaboration.
The Transnational Kick-off Event promises to be an engaging and enriching experience, equipping participants with valuable tools, insights, and networks to thrive within the CCI ecosystem.
