“You will recognize the tree by its fruits. According to Matthew.” The reference point is the value of a fruit-bearing tree, its planting, and its “adoption” by the Metaxourgeio neighborhood.
The tree still functions as a link uniting the community, simultaneously creating a focal point for discussions and actions regarding its protection, development, and the communication among the neighborhood’s people.
Inspired by the symbol of the tree and the deep human connection to it, as well as the fresh memory of the unjust summer destruction of thousands of trees caused by the wildfire that swept through many regions of Greece.
