Christmas gathering at the timeless café “Brempos” to share memories, stories, songs, and carols of the Arvanite rural culture of Aspropyrgos.
The community remembers, dreams, and warmly extends its hand to initiate us into the “Sproggolia,” the “Dérmes,” as well as the participatory event, the visual arts activity, and the theatrical storytelling.
This Christmas invitation is accompanied by reflections such as: What is the bridge between the intangible wealth carried by the Arvanite farmers of the area and modern post-industrial development?
What is the future of the oral Arvanite language? How will the community come closer through respect for living tradition, personal stories, song, myth, and the diversity of a multicultural city?
