A different perspective on their own city, Aspropyrgos, is presented by 19 artists in the online group visual arts exhibition titled “My Gaze and the City,” organized by Emilia Bouriti together with the Syn+Ergasia Art Platform, as part of the “Celebration in the Community” section of the international Amoli program.
The exhibition is held in collaboration with the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Aspropyrgos and is under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Sports. It will remain open to the public from December 23, 2020 (at 20:00) until January 23, 2021.
These nineteen artists from the Municipality of Aspropyrgos condense images and experiences in their visual perspective and mentally place their works along the city’s main artery, Democracy Avenue.
What stands out in the exhibition is the diversity of works, the variety of approaches and materials. The works are inspired either by memories and traditional practices or by contemporary approaches with a strong element of experimentation.
A visual panorama of the city of Aspropyrgos, conveying the personal imprint as well as the artists’ love for the city. Although the exhibition was organized during the pandemic, and through online meetings, the resulting work reflects the genuine interest of the artists in this project.
The exhibition sends the message that Aspropyrgos is a city with great developmental potential in the field of art.
