Next, a pilot program was initiated by the Laboratory with the installation of soil moisture sensors at the farm of Mr. Evangelos Mouzakas.
The sensors provide data to the researchers of the HME & PROPE Laboratory at PADA to inform the farmer about the proper management of water in agricultural cultivation.
This step was significant, according to the Laboratory researchers, laying the foundation for the Laboratory’s subsequent actions towards the energy transition of farms in Aspropyrgos.
This set of actions highlighted the value of collaboration and participatory, experiential knowledge. As a result, a rich archive of audiovisual and research material was created.
