The Value of Water and Energy Use | Outdoor, Research & Educational Workshop

On November 21, 2021, the launch of the outdoor, research, and educational workshop on the value of water and energy use will take place, led by Emilia Bouriti in collaboration with the Laboratory of Mild Forms of Energy and Environmental Protection of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of West Attica (HME & PROPE – UWA).

With the participation of farmers, artists, researchers, educators, and students from HME & PROPE – UWA.

The workshop will address as a single unit the elements of “Agricultural culture, art, sustainability, and resilience in agricultural cultivation,” with a particular theoretical reference as well as technological application on the issue of the value of water and energy use.

Additionally, the workshop aims to educate students and farmers on topics of energy and culture, to highlight the agricultural culture and farming of the area, thereby contributing to the sustainability and resilience of the agricultural community of Aspropyrgos.

The synthesis of all the above serves the benefit of the city of Aspropyrgos, which stands as a reference point for similar towns that transitioned from agricultural to industrial periods and are now experiencing the post-industrial era with a strong element of migratory flow. Towns like Aspropyrgos are striving to find their identity and rhythm through a changing reality and economy.

Finally, it emphasizes that Aspropyrgos is a city that maintains its connection to the land and food; moreover, with the presence of farms, it creates a microclimate that supports the environment of the post-industrial city.

Taking seriously into account the pandemic caused by coronavirus (COVID-19), the Amoli program will strictly follow the safety measures established by law.
